This slushee has been on repeat at our house this whole summer! Watermelon is 92% water, so it is the perfect way to rehydrate after a long day of swimming or running through the sprinklers. Staying hydrated is even more important when you are pregnant. The recommended fluid intake for pregnant women is 10cups per day. Dehydration can lead to many problems including overheating, low amniotic fluid, and even premature labor. So, make sure to keep a water bottle with you, especially during these hot summer months.
Plus, since we are blending up whole watermelon chunks, you also get all of the other benefits of the watermelon including the fiber as well as a good amount of vitamin C, vitamin B6, beta carotene, and lycopene.
